Gamma ray and electron tube are classified as Ionizing radiation. They have good penetration power and have high sterilization efficiency. Ionzing radiation cause excitations, ionization and where water are present, free radical are formed which can damage cell. Ionizing radiation damage the cell enzyme and DNA causing cell death.
